It’s a brand new month and we’re back with our regular Blog updates!
This week’s challenge is simple… we want to encourage you to SUBMIT your projects! You truly never know what could happen when you submit your cards, layouts or altered projects to page calls and contests in Magazines and on the web.
Two Newfoundlanders who have Memberships here at The Paperie have been published in this summer’s issue of Canadian Scrapbooker. Congratulations CoraLee Kilfoy and Gail Bidgood! Another Paperie Member will be published in the next issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Basics – congratulations Melanie Smith!
I personally have submitted over twenty times to the weekly Hero Arts Challenges over on their Blog (http://heroarts.com/blogs/club) and I have won a first place prize and an honourable mention, as well as the Scrapbooking Prize just two weeks ago! In order to submit to the Hero Arts challenges all you have to do is join Flickr.com and upload pictures of your projects to the Hero Arts Flickr Group. This group is also a tremendous place to find inspiration and even to make new friends around the world.
A few weeks ago I submitted another version of the Family Tree Layout that I made for a class back in October for the Hero Arts “Dots Challenge”, check out my winning entry below!
Stamps used - Hero Arts; Papers used – Basic Grey, Bazzill, BoBunny, Cosmo Cricket; Inks used - Memento Rich Cocoa, Versa Color Pinecone; Writing Tool: Chocolate Brown Zig Writer; AccuCut Templates used (from our Workshop) - Circle (11.5″), Tree (No Leaves), Black Tie Alphabet; Other Supplies: Raw Chipboard sheets, EK Success Circle Punches.
We’ve seen the diverse talent among the Scrapbookers in this province and we know you have what it takes to get published so GET BUSY and start submitting!
-Meghan
