Once again I found myself drawn to a layout found on Pinterest by Susan Weinroth:
I loved the simple, graphic nature of this layout and it seemed the perfect way to document my son’s first day of school (I’m determined to stay on top of the school album this year!). Here’s what I came up with:
The picture quality is not that great but I’m just happy that I managed to take a picture amidst all the first day chaos. I used several different lines of paper and cut out some of the elements to mimic the graphic style. I also used a variety of embellishments like cork stickers, sticker alphas and a few labels. I stamped the #4 using the Hero Arts Sketched number stamps in the center of the geotag to indicate Grade 4.
This layout is super simple but that’s why I love it – the kids school albums have a sort of coordinated simplicity in them that ideally allows me to capture several pages from each school year and include some of their art work in the form of a collage. Hope you’re inspired to keep up with the school photos.
