Daily Deal 2 + Mojo Monday: Distressing

We’re kicking off December with our first Mojo Monday PRIZE challenge of the holiday season! Expect a few more prize challenges throughout December…

This week’s Mojo Monday Challenge is to create a card, tag, layout or project that features the ‘Distress’ Technique.

Don’t forget, we will be posting our December Daily Deals every day we’re open until December 23rd, so be sure you subscribe to our blog, twitter, or Facebook feed to hear all the great specials!

Announcing our Daily Deal for December 2nd…

25% off all Tim Holtz Distress Products!
This includes Ranger Distress: Ink Pads, Re-Inkers, Paints, Stains, Markers, Glitters.

If you can’t make it in for today’s deal, be sure to call us with your credit card and we’ll put aside your purchase for you or a little helper to pick up.  Offer is good day of sale only.

During our retreat I asked several of our customers and designers to assist me in the Tags of Christmas project and boy, did they deliver. I will definitely be trying to replicate some of these tags for my own stash and we’d love if you played along too!

Rae Lynn’s tag is simply stunning and I learned so much watching her create it at the Retreat. It’s sort of an inside joke that she and I end up purchasing the same products so it’s always fun to see what Rae Lynn does with the same stuff that I have on hand!

Isn’t it gorgeous! I love how she distressed the edges! To create her tag, Rae Lynn used:

  1. Aged Mahogany Distress Paint to cover the tag
  2. Ranger Queen’s Gold embossing powder and versamark to stamp the sentiment (Inkadinkdoo)
  3. Versamark to distress the edges and emboss in gold
  4. White twine dipped in tarnished brass Distress Paint and then curled to dry
  5. Gold enamel dot to finish off the twine bow
  6. Wood veneer stars coloured with brush Wink of Stella in gold

If you create a tag for this week’s challenge, be sure to upload to our Mojo Monday Gallery or comment with a link to your blog for a chance to win the prize this week.

Happy Stamping!
