Create a Card – Distress background

Hi Everyone!

I’m back with another super simple card – this one happens to be a thank you card but you could add any sentiment to this card and it would be gorgeous.

Supplies:

  • Distress Markers – seedless preserves, dusty concord, pumice stone, weathered wood, shaded lilac
  • Background stamp of your choice – I used a cover a card background stamp
  • mini mister
  • Die-namics Thank-you die
  • Big Shot (not shown)
  • tweezers
  • Zing Glue Pen
  • watercolor paper (panel)
  • Neenah Solar White – card base

Instructions:

  1. color (randomly) over your background stamp with various shades (I chose blue – purple shades)
  2. mist with water
  3. bring watercolor paper panel to the stamp (I just lay my background stamp on my craft sheet and press the paper into it – no need for a block for this one)
  4. pull paper away to reveal a gorgeous distressed looking background!
  5. adhere the thank you greeting with glue pen (these sentiments were left over from my ombre cards)
  6. adhere panel to card base with foam tape
  7. add a few adhesive pearls (I did 3)
  8. note: if you don’t mind a softer look you can often get two panels from one application of the marks – just remist and go
  9. Done!

Happy Stamping

Wendy
