December Daily Kit Release

I know you may or may not be ready to hear it folks, but December is approaching and I, for one, like to embrace the holiday season fully. I especially love documenting it too. I know, I know – it can be stressful to document during the holiday season! And that’s where we come in!

If you’re familiar with Ali Edwards you might also be familiar with her project {December Daily}.

The idea is that you document your stories during the holiday season. It’s a great opportunity to keep track of traditions from year to year, package all of your holiday activities into one great book or just a cool mini album to make.

The best part of this project is that you can prepare your album ahead of time, usually during the month of November, so that you can easily add photos + words during December. This, of course, makes the process of documenting the holidays even easier! It’s a great way to capture all those details of the holiday preparations and the season in one place without the added pressure of scrapbooking them when you are burnt out from all the festivities in January!

I’ve completed 6 December Daily Albums over the years and like Ali, I’ve always used a mini album for my project. I love the smaller size in particular because it’s truly manageable, and The Paperie will have {a selection of album choices} coming in November!

The cool thing about December Daily is that you can prep your pages using a kit – even pre-making layouts so that all that’s left to do is simply add pictures afterwards. In the past I’ve added dates & simple embellishments ahead of time so I only have to add my pictures, journaling and a few extra bits and bobs after the fact, making this a very manageable project.

I know the idea of documenting a story & picture each day might be daunting but it truly is a worthwhile activity. It’s one of the first things I go looking for when pulling out the holiday decor. I love to look through these albums and reminisce about the changes over the years.

Now, keep in mind that this doesn’t have to be all or nothing project either. This is a project you make all your own so you can choose to tell 12 stories in your album, or document from December 1st – 25th or go right through the holiday season & into New Year’s. I’ve done all of the above based on my mood and free time each year. You could also treat this like a project life album for December and simply use the divided page protectors, adding them to your PL album.

We are making it even easier to work on your DD album this year by offering our own exclusive December Daily kit filled with some amazing goodies including some bits and bobs from our own resident silhouette guru, Mary Ann. Having everything in one place, coordinated and ready to go makes this process a whole lot easier. The Paperie’s December Daily kit is a lovely collection of product, you might even choose to use your kit for your holiday layouts & cards!

Paperie Pick: Club Kit

Hi all! It’s Sara here today and I’m going to tell you all about the beauty and wonder of  Kit Clubs! And luckily for all of us, The Paperie has their own amazing Club Kit – yay!

Anyone who knows me can vouch for the fact that I may be the slowest scrapbooker of all time. No kidding, it’s a little ridiculous! So those who know me were more than a little shocked when I opened the very first kit the Paperie put together last November and banged out a LO in half an hour. Seriously.

I was hooked!

The awesome thing about a kit is that all the work is done for you. Not just coordinating papers, but embellishments and letters too! Throw in some adhesive, a journaling pen, a few pictures and you’re good to go!

I’ve always loved collection packs because all the papers go together and you don’t have to poke through your entire stash to find just the right thing. The problem is that it can get pretty expensive to buy the collection pack, then the embellishments, and the letters, and then you still have to go find coordinating cardstock. A kit gives you all of that, in smaller quantities (which means I’m not looking at leftovers 5 years from now!) with all those pieces included for a lower price!

Bottom line, everything I need is in one bag for cheap – that’s my kind of products! Just to show you the value, here’s a look at the June Paperie Kit, Snap Happy!

That’s a bunch of stuff people! Two full sets of letter stickers, two stamps – a camera set and a roller date, a sheet of printed vellum, a bunch of tags, sparkly buttons, and I haven’t even mentioned the patterned paper or cardstock yet!

And look how versatile it can be – it’s good for end school cards:

And sympathy cards:

For $34.99 for a Club Kit Member Subscription you can’t do better than that! If you’re not a Club Member (Really? You’re not? Go join up!) it’s $39.99 and still a great value. Being a Club Kit Member means the lower price every month, it’s only a 6 month commitment, and you are guaranteed the kit. If you’re not a member you can still get a kit – if you’re lucky enough to snatch it up before they’re gone! Last month they sold out immediately, and if you look at some of the product, you can see why – everything on the LO below, except the date stamp and journaling pen, were included in the kit:

As a matter of fact, every month so far the kit has sold out, except for one – and one lucky person will get the March kit for 15% off because it’s the Paperie Pick this week. Let me tell you, it’s an awesome kit too – all kraft and navy and yellow but there’s also some pretty butterflies thrown in so it can be really boyish or super feminine. Here’s one project I made with that kit, a mini album for my son, Gabe, with pictures from the week he turned 3 (you can see the whole album here):

So, are you sold yet? I know I love them and rarely buy loads of paper anymore – the kit does it all for me! Now don’t get me wrong, I still shop and if the kit has a sheet I love, I buy extra, but I don’t have hoards of unused paper lying around anymore and that, my friends, is a very good thing!

The new kit debuts on Wednesday, May 13 and the Design Team will have some amazing projects to share with you then in case you need some more inspiration. I think the kit itself will inspire you just fine though – have fun creating! And don’t forget to stop by and see what else I make from my June kit – I can’t wait to play a little more!

This week your challenge is to create a card or layout that features a blended background. You can use Distress Inks, Alcohol Inks, stamp your background with a blend of different stamps, use a brayer… get creative and play with different mediums!

If you play along with our challenge you should share your art by uploading your project to our Mojo Monday Group on Facebook! We also have a Facebook Club called The Paperie Community where you can share ANY paper projects you make – no holds barred! We’d love to see your work.

This challenge was inspired by two of Sara’s gorgeous cards for her class tomorrow night, here’s a sneak peek which Sara also shared on her blog today.
